Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Independent Chair of the Board as of 1 April 2019, namely Sue Ross.
Sue is a registered social worker who has been, for the last 4 years, the Director of Children and Adults for Bournemouth Council.
Sue has been a Director of Social Services and Director of Adults and Children’s Services in a number of authorities in England, Scotland and Wales over the last 35 years and for 3 years was Chief Executive of a large Primary Care Trust in Yorkshire. She has been Chair of Safeguarding Adults Boards in Manchester, South Tyneside and Newcastle and has authored and Chaired a number of Serious Case Reviews and management reviews in England, Wales and in the Falkland Islands.
She is a Trustee of Affinity Trust, a charity for people with Learning Disabilities and is a member of the Football Association’s judicial review panel for safeguarding.
The Board welcomes Sue and are looking forward to utilising her wealth of skills and experience to assist the Board in delivering the adult safeguarding agenda in Oxfordshire.
